Abstract

The surgically assisted maxillary expansion is the mean of choice treating isolated micrognatia with underdeveloped transversal dimension if growth of the sutures is completed.

Indication and treatment of surgically assisted maxillary expansion is demonstrated in the way it is performed at the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital of Innsbruck.
