Many of us are still unfamiliar with the man who is behind the successful story of the International Journal of Angiology (IJA), the official journal of the International College of Angiology, and an official publication of the International College of Surgeons, and Asian Society for Vascular Surgery. There is much cause for celebration of this success. This journal was started some 20 years ago by Professor John B. Chang. Under the leadership of Prof. Chang, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, IJA is progressing and flourishing very well. Prof. Chang has been a partner, leader, founder, and funder. There is so much credit due for Prof. Chang's worthwhile endeavor.

Recently, Prof. Chang made unprecedented changes in the editorial board to bring qualified young and enthusiastic people on board to enhance the quality of the journal. The editorial board works together to ensure that IJA continues to improve and provide the authors and readers the best possible package. The guidelines for manuscript submission have been updated. The manuscript submission and review process are now fully online.

Regardless of our diverse specialties, research agenda, and institutional affiliation, the goal is only one, that is, to improve the quality of patient care related to vascular diseases. The International College of Angiology and the editorial board acknowledge the incredible scientific contributions of the contributors to the journal. The breadth of the contributors, scientific topics, and translational research published in the journal are outstanding and praiseworthy.

The future aim is to expand our mandate. We would like to attract high-quality papers from experts in various specialties and to publish theme-based issues. We would like to provide its readers content that is new and related to current important issues in health care. The editorial board earnestly requests fellows and nonfellows of the college, contributors, and readers to support our effort in achieving new heights for the journal. Your past supports have been noteworthy and praiseworthy and we hope that your support for the journal will continue.

Since the past 1 year, IJA is being published by Thieme Medical Publishers. In collaboration with the new publisher and its strong support, we will re-energize the journal to achieve its goal in reaching new heights.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome for improvement in the quality of the journal.
