Komplikationsmanagement beim externen Sinuslift

Um Implantate sicher und langzeitstabil setzen zu können, muss oft ein präimplantologischer Knochenaufbau erfolgen, um die Voraussetzung für ein Mindestvolumen an periimplantärem Knochen zu erfüllen. Gerade in der posterioren Maxilla hat sich bei größeren Volumendefiziten der sog. externe Sinuslift als eine Methode erwiesen, erfolgversprechend und vorhersagbar einen hinreichenden Knochen zu schaffen, sodass eine kompromisslose Implantation erfolgen kann. Kompromisslos bedeutet dabei eine Einhaltung der biologischen Parameter (Mindestvolumen an Knochen, das das Implantat umgibt) sowie gleichzeitig eine Orientierung an die spätere Prothetik. Um Komplikationen jeglicher Art zu vermeiden, gilt es im Vorfeld die absoluten und relativen Kontraindikationen für einen externen Sinuslift zu beachten. Die Kenntnisse der Anatomie und der Physiologie der Kieferhöhle sowie die Auswirkungen einer Manipulation sind sehr wichtig. Treten Komplikationen während oder nach einem Sinuslift auf, muss der Operateur im Stande sein, diese Komplikationen zu erkennen und zu beheben.
