Budesonid MMX (Multi Matrix System) nutzt eine neue Technologie, die eine Freisetzung des Wirkstoffs im Kolon ermöglicht und nicht, wie herkömmliche Formulierungen, im terminalen Ileum. S. P. L. Travis et al. haben in einer Phase-III-Studie die Wirksamkeit des Medikaments untersucht.
