Klinische Neuropsychologie ist keine psychologische Psychotherapie^[*]

Zusammenfassung

Die klinische Neuropsychologie wurde in den letzten Jahrzehnten gemeinsam von Psychologen und Ärzten als ein eigenständiges klinisches und wissenschaftliches Fach etabliert. In jüngerer Zeit wird jedoch zunehmend versucht, dieses Fach aus gesundheitspolitischen Gründen im Kontext der Psychotherapie zu verorten und im Zusammenhang mit der Weiterbildung zum psychologischen Psychotherapeuten zu definieren. Wir sehen diese Entwicklung formal und inhaltlich als falsch an und befürchten mittelfristig eine Gefährdung des Patientenwohls.

Abstract

Over the past few decades, neuropsychology was established as a basic and clinical science through a joint effort by psychologists and physicians. Recent health care politics, however, more and more subsumes clinical neuropsychology in the context of psychological psychotherapy. We consider this recent development to be systematically wrong and substantially inappropriate, and we fear that it will adversely affect patient care.
