Das akute Nierenversagen in der Intensivmedizin ist trotz aller Maßnahmen weiterhin mit einer hohen Mortalität verbunden. Zur Behandlung stehen verschiedene intermittierende und kontinuierliche Nierenersatzverfahren zur Verfügung. Der folgende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Indikationsstellung sowie Einsatzmöglichkeiten und Therapie-Empfehlungen anhand der aktuellen KDIGO-Leitlinien zum akuten Nierenversagen.

Acute renal failure in the intensive care unit (ICU) is still associated with a high mortality. The current review summarizes therapeutic options, the different modalities for renal replacement therapy in the ICU setting as well as the current KDIGO guidelines for acute renal failure published in 2012.
