Gegenstand und Ziel: Darstellung grundlegender Aspekte der systematischen Puerperalkontrolle in Milchviehherden.
Material und Methoden: Übersichtsarbeit. Schlussfolgerungen und klinische Relevanz: Systematische Puerperalkontrollen dienen der frühzeitigen Detektion und Behandlung
von Puerperalerkrankungen. Der Erfolg dieser Maßnahmen wird von einer Vielzahl von
Faktoren beeinflusst, die bei der Entwicklung eines Kontrollprogramms berücksichtigt
werden müssen. Insbesondere die Aufgabenverteilung zwischen betreuendem Tierarzt und
Betriebspersonal ist ein entscheidender Aspekt für den Erfolg derartiger Programme.
Die Fruchtbarkeitsüberwachung sollte sich nicht nur auf die Puerperalkontrolle beschränken,
sondern den Zeitraum von der Trockenstellung bis zum Trächtigkeitsnachweis umfassen.
Neben der klinischen Untersuchung sind labordiagnostische Verfahren einzusetzen, um
subklinische Störungen und Risikofaktoren für Erkrankungen zu detektieren.
Summary
Objective: Illustration of basic aspects of systematically controlling the postpartal period
in dairy herds. Material and methods: General review of the literature. Conclusions and clinical relevance: Controls of puerperium serve as a tool for early detection and treatment of puerperal
diseases. The success of activities is affected by many factors which have to be considered
in the development of control programs. Especially the assignment of tasks between
the veterinary and the operational staff is a decisive aspect for the success of such
programs. The monitoring of the reproductive performance should not only be restricted
to puerperal controls but account for the whole interval between drying off and diagnosis
of pregnancy. Besides the clinical examination, laboratory diagnostics should be applied
to detect subclinical dysfunctions and risk factors for diseases.
