Zusammenfassung

Die Magnetresonanztomografie kann beim akuten Schlaganfall mittlerweile routinemäßig eingesetzt werden. Neben der Diagnostik des ischämischen Schlaganfalls ist sie auch bei Blutungen und Sinusvenenthrombosen hilfreich. Wir besprechen Stärken und Schwächen der Methode in diesem Zusammenhang und geben einen Ausblick auf zu erwartende Entwicklungen.

Summary

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used in diagnostics of acute ischemic stroke as well as intracranial bleeds and sinus-venous thrombosis. We give a short overview of the advantages and limitations of MRI in this context and comment on technological innovations.
