A displaced Salter Harris type II fracture of the distal ulna and a minimally displaced
Salter Harris type II fracture of the distal radius were diagnosed in a fourteen month
female neutered Great Dane dog. Fracture reduction was challenging but treatment was
successful. Aetiology of the unusual fracture is discussed. Long bone physes may close
later in giant breeds, early neutering can cause a further delay.
