This book represents the sixth English edition; it is an authorized translation of the tenth German edition published in 2014, and it was revised and updated. This title has a long tradition. The first volume dates back to 1976; it was authored by Peter Duus. The text has been translated in several languages (e.g., Japanese, Portuguese, Indonesian, Greek, and Chinese). It is a classic; generations of students have consulted this text. Not only students find this volume helpful, but it is also suitable for trainees and practitioners. The text is well structured and clearly organized; color-coded section headings (blue for anatomy, green for clinical aspects) improve the orientation. The anatomical components of a system (as Motor System, Brainstem, and Cerebellum) are described in detail, and they are underpinned by colored illustrations. Hence, the text appears very informative and didactic. Case reports and patients vignettes (with appropriate imaging illustrations) exemplify clinical correlates.

This classic does not need a particular recommendation. The quality of printing and illustrations are excellent, and the value for money is favorable. Online access to the e-book on MedOne is provided to the buyer.
