Terry D. Fife, MD, FAAN, FANS

The Guest Editor of this issue of Seminars in Neurology is Dr. Terry Fife.

Dr. Fife is Professor of Neurology at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He received his BS in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, magna cum laude. He then went to Texas A&M University, where he received his MD, and then on to the University of California, Davis, for residency in Internal Medicine. He did a second residency, in Neurology, at the University of California, Los Angeles, David Geffen School of Medicine, where he also did a fellowship in Vestibular Neurophysiology and Neuro-Otology. He has since been in Arizona, where he served as Departmental Vice Chairman at the Barrow Neurological Institute and is now the Director of Graduate Medical Education/Designated Institutional Official for the Institute. Dr. Fife is a recognized international leader in the field of Neuro-Otology. He has received innumerable honors, including multiple top/best Doctor's awards. He is a revered teacher and a skilled clinical researcher.

I greatly appreciate the efforts of Dr. Fife, as well as all of the contributing authors, for their important work in this issue on Neuro-Otology, which I'm sure, will be of great interest to the readers of Seminars in Neurology. Disorders of balance and vertigo are some of the most challenging for neurologists, and the assembled authors provide an exceptional exposition of the many varied topics to be considered. It is a tremendous issue, and I am personally grateful to Terry for his dedication and insights. This is sure to be a favorite and great reference for years to come.
