Zusammenfassung

Zervikogener Schwindel ist eine Ausschlussdiagnose. Ein verlässlicher Test für eine Diagnose existiert nicht, sodass der Therapeut sich mit Hilfe eines Flussdiagrammes und eines klaren Clinical Reasonings bewegt, um Hypothesen zu verwerfen und zu bestätigen. Lautet die Behandlungshypothese dann zervikogener Schwindel, ist die Evidenz für Manuelle Therapie gut – sie bewegt sich immerhin auf Level 2 [31].

Anmerkung der Redaktion: Der Artikel ist aus dem Englischen übersetzt. In der englischen Sprache wird zwischen Vertigo und Dizziness unterschieden. Diese Unterscheidung gibt es in der deutschen Sprache üblicherweise nicht – im Deutschen existiert nur der Begriff Schwindel. In dem Artikel wird Dizziness, was eher ein Überbegriff ist und oft Vertigo miteinbezieht, mit Schwindel übersetzt und der Begriff Vertigo, der eher den vestibulären Schwindel meint, aus dem Englischen übernommen.
