Abstract

In recent years cardiovascular MRI (CMR) has demonstrated tremendous advancements towards an indispensable imaging tool in cardiovascular medicine. CMR uniquely allows a flexible and comprehensive integration of different techniques with high accuracy for the evaluation of cardiac morphology, function and tissue characterization. Considering a few important limitations, CMR has become the imaging method of choice for the diagnostic and prognostic workup of many cardiac diseases.
