Das Monitoring von Hämodynamik und Respiration ist bei instabilen und postoperativen Patienten von grundlegender Bedeutung. Während sich die hämodynamische Situation durch die Parameter Herzfrequenz und Blutdruck vergleichsweise gut beurteilen lässt, werden Messparameter wie die Atemfrequenz zur Risikostratifizierung der Atmung nicht hinreichend genutzt.
