Sutureless Aortic Prosthesis, 11-Year Experience With a Technology between the Surgical and the Transcatheter Worlds
Authors
Aortic valve replacement (AVR) by sutureless prostheses changed surgeon options, but there is still controversy concerning the performance of nitinol technology in open heart operations. This study reviews a large single center experience with Perceval trough 11 years of continuous use. Between 2011, when Perceval (Sorin) was commercially available in Europe, and 2022 (Perceval Livanova and now Corcym), 560 patients underwent AVR with this type of sutureless prosthesis in isolated or combined procedures. We performed a retrospective analysis of early clinical results.
