Gabapentinoide – Die neuen Wundermittel in der Schmerztherapie?

In den letzten Jahren hielten Gabapentin und Pregabalin Einzug in die veterinärmedizinische Schmerztherapie. Im Folgenden werden die Wirkungsweise der Gabapentinoide im Rahmen der Analgesie, die Möglichkeiten für deren veterinärmedizinischen Einsatz in der Schmerztherapie, Angaben zur Dosierung sowie zu möglichen unerwünschten Arzneimittelwirkungen und daraus folgenden Konsequenzen für die Therapie sowie die arzneimittelrechtliche Situation bei deren Einsatz beschrieben.
