Key words
palladium catalysis - pyridyl amino acids - serine - organozinc reagent
Significance
Pyridyl amino acids are the crucial building blocks for the synthesis of many bioactive
molecules and play a significant role in chemical biology. In 2003, the authors developed
a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of serine-derived organozinc reagents with halo-substituted
pyridines for the synthesis of pyridyl amino acids.
Comment
A series of pyridyl amino acids was synthesized by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling
of serine-derived organozinc reagents with halo-substituted pyridine.
