Zusammenfassung

Im Vergleich zur traditionellen chinesischen Medizin (TCM) wird die Eigenständigkeit der traditionellen koreanischen Medizin (TKM) nach wie vor unterschätzt, zudem ist sie stark durch die Geschichte des Landes mit langen Phasen der Fremdherrschaft und der Teilung geprägt. Eine Reise im September 2017 führte zu den Quellen der TKM, aber auch an die Front moderner integrativer Onkologie. Der Bericht erläutert die Grundzüge des koreanischen Gesundheitssystems, gibt einen Überblick über die TKM und einige ihrer Besonderheiten, insbesondere den Einsatz von Ginseng, die Pharmakoakupunktur und die Anwendung der Hyperthermie. Die Implementation integrativer Onkologie in modernen koreanischen Kliniken wird an einigen Beispielen schlaglichtartig aufgezeigt.
