Chondrosarcoma of the skull base is treated with upfront surgery in most healthy patients and carries a prognosis better than chordoma occurring in similar locations. This surgical video is about a woman who presented with headache and hearing loss, whose MRI showed a petrous bone tumor consistent with chondrosarcoma. A combined anterior transpetrosal and retrosigmoid approach was used. Additional drilling in the posterior fossa above and below the jugular bulb provided access for total resection.
