HUMANIZATION OF RADIOTHERAPY CARE

    Introduction Humanization, expressed in fragmented actions and in the vagueness and fragility of the concept, sees its meanings linked to voluntarism, assistentialism, paternalism or even the technicality of a management based on administrative rationality and total quality. The debate on the subject of humanization in the health field was driven by the construction of the National Policy for the Humanization of Health Care and Management (NHP) is in full swing, but little is still debated in the scenario of radiotherapy. Objective: The main objective of this article is to list the possible humanization actions that can be performed within the panoramas that involve the complexity of radiotherapy. Method: Cross-sectional study that included data collection on the subject of radiotherapy in humanization in electronic sources: MEDLINE, COCHRANE, LILACS and EMBASE. Results: Humanization actions of great relevance that can be applied in radiotherapy were observed, such as: creation of a welcoming group in outpatient clinics, humanized check in / check out, treatment room setting, telephone contact with nursing staff, humanized visit in radiotherapy department, psychological evaluation and accompaniment to family members, right to companion, guidance and prevention in waiting room health, volunteer actions - handicraft workshop - playful activities for patients and caregivers, ecumenical space - religious service, integration activities; cultural, recreational and leisure events; personal development courses, caring for the caregiver, humanization symposium, education and training, institutional guidelines and humanization actions in the professionals institutional training, library and book exchange, film session with patient and reflections of the films, mask painting with super heroes, people dressed in patient entertainment costumes, Patient Courage Certificate among many other ways of humanization found. Conclusion: We found several ways of humanization of care and assistance in radiotherapy with great relevance in the current context, and which has easy applicability in the routine of services, therefore, to implement a humanized care is necessary to start the discussion of this theme with health professionals. involved, in order to prepare you for a performance based on values that excel at the aspects essential to the human being.
