Introduction: Cervical cancer is a public health problem that affects many women worldwide. Radiotherapy is a modality of choice for the treatment of this neoplasia, which is reinforced by brachytherapy. Pre- and post-treatment guidelines are required for therapy. Audiovisual resources and written materials offer techniques for demystifying fear of treatment and clarifying side effects. Objective: Update of 3 leaflets on the theme used in the institution, as a facilitator of the teaching-learning process in nursing consultation. Method: The study followed 3 steps. for the update of the leaflets: integrative revision, layout update and validation. The integrative review was carried out in four databases: BDENF / LILACS via BVS, Medline via PubMed and Scielo in May 2019 and included the following research descriptors: “Nursing Oncology” “rachytherapy” “ealth Education” and “Cervical Neoplasia.” The inclusion criteria were: articles available in full, in Portuguese, English and Spanish; 5-year time frame (2014-2019). There was no critical appraisal of the studies. Of the 19 articles identified, 8 were eliminated due to failing to address the topic, and only 11 of these studies addressed the research theme. Six nurses with expertise in the area of brachytherapy were consulted about the validation of the leaflets. Results: Three leaflets of Nursing Guidelines were updated, as follows: Pre-brachytherapy procedure with anesthesia; pre-brachytherapy procedure without anesthesia and post-brachytherapy. The layout of the printouts has a single page format, 20x15 cm, containing illustrations of exercises and vaginal stenosis and directives text. The research did not show the use of depilatory creams in the preparation of the skin, but despite this limitation the updates provided clinical evidence for the inclusion of this information in the educational material. Conclusion: The nursing guidelines for discharge, as evidenced in the literature, were: vaginal exercises with dilators, appreciation of water intake of 2 ~ 3 l / day, rest. The advance in the use of educational methodologies contributes to women’s adherence to cancer treatment and favors nursing care systematization processes.
