If you are a fan of Ton Jansen (b. 1956), then you will be happy to know that he has come out with another book based on his Homeopathic Detox Therapy (HDT), which he formulated circa 1993. He began his homeopathic studies in 1985 and realized that despite well-chosen remedies his patients did not improve as they should have.

Antonius “Ton” is a Dutch natural health practitioner (heilpraktiker) who has been quite successful using homeopathic remedies according to his self-created approach that he perfected during the past 35 years.

“After having studied several cases, I started to see that the cause of many complaints was to be found within the type (and duration) of medication patients were taking, and with the accumulation of effects of different types of medication patients had taken during their lives.

“The increase in the use of toxic substances was starting to leave its traces in the health of many people. Probably 90% of the patients in my practice are out of balance (ill) as a consequence of the use of allopathic medicine. Unfortunately modern medications, from vaccinations to paracetamol, have a larger impact on our health than we are realising.

“The Homeopathic Detox Therapy appears to be helpful in the treatment of the effects of using allopathic medication with patients with illnesses like rheumatism, migraines, cancer, MS, ME, PMS, menstruation or menopause problems, etc. And in fact this method also has a positive effect on many other “modern diseases.” –e-mail communication, May 20, 2015

There are 10 chapters in this book. The first three are largely introductions and the rest are devoted to materia medica usually with a case included: (4) Animal Remedies: materia medica (7 remedies) and cases; (5) Bodily Substance Remedies: materia medica (23 remedies) and cases; (6) Chemical Substances: materia medica (21 remedies); (7) Hormones: materia medica (2 remedies) and cases; (8) Mineral remedies: materia medica (6 remedies) and cases; (9) Natural Food substances: materia medica (5 remedies) and cases; and (10) Vitamins and Vitamin-like Substances, materia medica (17 remedies) and cases. Most remedies are dealt with in 2 to 8 pages and follow the same schema. Sanguis bovinus, cow's blood, is one of the shortest and is included here verbatim:

Homeopathic remedy: Sanguis bovinus.

“Research has found that cows are not affected by bites of contaminated ticks. Somehow their blood neutralises the borrelia pathogens. I then had a homeopathic remedy made of cow's blood and start doing provings on myself and on volunteers.

“In the past I had Lyme disease and in the proving I noticed a marked amelioration of my energy, of the strength in my legs (at times I had great fatigue and neuropathy). After a clear image from the provings I give this remedy to patients who had had Lyme, with the same result. As most of these patients had had antibiotics, I needed to combine Sanguis bovinus with a course of Poly antibiotics.

“A predisposition to get Lyme disease is a contamination with Epstein-Barr virus, causing mononucleosis, in the past.
