Problematik von Virusinfektionen bei Blut- und Plasmaprodukten

Neben einigen Bakterien und Parasiten sind zur Zeit insbesondere folgende Virus- und Prioneninfektionen für das Blutspendewesen von Relevanz: Hepatitisviren: Hepatitis A, B, C, (G) Herpesviren: CMV, EBV, (Humane Herpesviren 6, 7 und 8) Retroviren: HIV 1/2, HTLV 1/2 sonstige Erreger:Parvovirus B19, Creutzfeldt-Jakob-Prion
