Zusammenfassung:
Maisstärke ist ein weißes, neutral riechendes, weitaus unlösliches und ungefährliches
Pulver. Wir berichten über einen 24jährigen Arbeiter mit ausgeprägtem Bronchospasmus
und arterieller Hypoxämie nach Kollaps und Aspiration bei Arbeiten in einem Maisstärkesilo.
Im Vordergrund der medikamentösen Behandlung stand die Sekretolyse und Mukolyse. Eine
intensive Bronchialtoilette bestehend aus täglich mehrfachen Bronchoskopien, Lagerung,
Klopf- und Vibrationsmassagen wurde notwendig. Der Patient erholte sich innerhalb
von 3 Tagen.
Starch is a white, neutral smelling, insoluble and harmless powder. The case of a
24-year old worker with a pronounced bronchspasm and arterial hypoxaemia after a collapse
and aspiration during working in a silo filled with corn starch will be reported.
Medication consisted mainly in mucolytics. Intensive airway clearing consisted of
repeated bronchoscopies, bedding, tapotement and vibration massage. The patient has
made a complete recovery in 3 days.
