ABSTRACT

The aim of this article is to describe miscellaneous interventional techniques that can be performed on the kidney using image guidance. These techniques include percutaneous ureteric occlusion, percutaneous stent retrieval, and treatment of pelvi ureteric junction obstruction. These techniques are described briefly and relevant references are given. The success rates of these newer techniques are compared with conventional modes of treatment. The results show that the newer minimally invasive techniques are equally as good as conventional treatments.
