Die Wirkung von Caulophyllum D4 auf die spontane kontraktile Aktivität der glatten Muskulatur

Zusammenfassung

Fragestellung

Eine randomisierte doppelblinde plazebokontrollierte Studie hatte keine klinische Wirksamkeit von Caulophyllum D4 an 40 Schwangeren mit vorzeitigem Blasensprung zeigen können. Es war daher Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit, die Ergebnisse der klinischen Studie durch Untersuchungen an der glatten Muskulatur zu erhärten. Es wurde die Wirkung von Caulophyllum D2 - D6 auf die spontane kontraktile Aktivität (SCA) der glatten Muskulatur des Uterus in vitro untersucht.

Material und Methodik

Der Einfluss homöopathischer Verdünnungen von Caulophyllum D2 - D6 auf die spontane kontraktile Aktivität der glatten Muskulatur des Rattenuterus wurde unter isometrischen Bedingungen mittels Widerstandstransducern untersucht.

Ergebnisse

Die homöopathischen Verdünnungen D2 - D6 zeigten keine myogenen Effekte. Caulophyllum D2 - D6 zeigte keinerlei anregende Wirkung auf die SCA der Uterusmuskulatur. Auch konnten in der vorangegangenen klinischen Studie die Wirksamkeit von Caulophyllum D4 nicht belegt werden.

Schlussfolgerung

Die klinischen und In-vitro-Untersuchungen bestätigen sich gegenseitig. Es muss festgehalten werden, dass Caulophyllum D4 Schwangeren mit vorzeitigem Blasensprung zwar ohne Gefahr von Nebenwirkungen verordnet werden kann, die klinische Studie und die vorliegenden Untersuchungen an der glatten Muskulatur eine Wirksamkeit jedoch nicht zeigen konnten.

Summary

Objective

In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, no clinical efficacy of Caulophyllum D4 could be shown with 40 pregnant women with premature amnion rupture. It was the aim of this study to confirm the results of this clinical trial by basic research. Therefore the effects of Caulophyllum D2 - D6 on the spontaneous contractile activity (SCA) of smooth muscle fibres of uterus have been measured in vitro.

Methods

The spontaneous contraction activity of the smooth muscles and the influence of the homeopathic dilutions were registrated by tension transducers under isometric conditions.

Results

The homeopathic dilutions D2 - D6 did not cause myogene effects.

Conclusions

It can be said that Caulophyllum D2 - D6 did not show an increase of SCA of the smooth muscles. The clinical efficacy, however, could not be proved. The clinical and in-vitro investigations confirm each other. Caulophyllum D4 can be prescribed for pregnant women with premature amnion rupture without fear of side effects, although the efficacy could not be proved in the clinical trial and the basic research work. Before homeopathic treatment can be used in the delivery room, it must first meet the same criteria as standard medical treatment.
