Der Wassermelonen-Magen ist eine Erkrankung, die auch 15 Jahre nach der Einführung des markanten Namens durch Jabbari et al. [19] wenig bekannt ist. Als Wassermelonen-Magen werden streifig angeordnete antrale Gefäßektasien bezeichnet. Betroffen sind vorwiegend ältere Frauen mit einer portalen Hypertension oder Autoimmunerkrankungen, die meist durch eine chronische Blutungsanämie auffallen. Die Diagnose wird aufgrund der typischen endoskopischen Veränderungen gestellt; der erste Teil dieser Arbeit »Diagnostik der vaskulären Ektasien des Magenantrums (Wassermelonen-Magen)« ist im vorherigen Heft erschienen.
