Subakuter Rückenschmerz: Osteopathie als nützliche und kosteneffektive Ergänzung der Routinebehandlung

Zusammenfassung

201 Patienten mit subakutem Rückenschmerz erhielten bei 14 teilnehmenden niederländischen Hausarztpraxen randomisiert entweder die übliche ambulante Behandlung oder zusätzlich dreimal eine “osteopathische spinale Manipulation”. Alle wichtigen Zielparameter, u.a. ein Rückenschmerzscore oder die Lebensqualität besserten sich in der osteopathisch behandelten Gruppe nachhaltig stärker bei unwesentlich höheren Kosten.

Summary

Subacute spinal pain: Osteopathy as a useful and cost effecticve add-on to usual care

A total of 201 patients with subacute neck or back pain were allocated at random between usual primary care as offered by the participating 14 Dutch general practioners and an additional three sessions of osteopathic spinal manipulation. For all main outcomes, e.g. the Extended Aberdeen Spine Pain Scale and generic quality of life, there were markedly more pronounced and sustained improvements in the osteopathic group at only marginally higher costs.

Douleurs dorsales subaiguës

201 patients souffrant de douleurs dorsales subaiguës furent traités dans 14 cabinets médicaux hollandais randomisés soit avec le traitement usuel ambulatoire soit avec en supplément trois séances de manipulation ostéopathique dorsale. Tous les paramètres fixés, entre autres le taux des douleurs dorsales ou la qualité de vie, virent une amélioration plus importante et durable chez le groupe traité ostéopathiquement et cela avec des coûts sensiblement plus élevés.
