Abstract
Diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses often present relatively uniform symptoms
despite a wide variety of etiology. The present paper serves as an aid for correctly
diagnosing tumors of this region in particular. However, of main clinical importance
are sinusitides of various origin and presentation. Landmarks and critical areas in
preoperative assessment using CT are discussed. Postoperative consequences and their
possible complications are demonstrated. In case of trauma, the detailed definition
of fracture types should be achieved; the current schemes are presented here. Developmental
anomalies rarely occur, but are described here in detail.
