Introduction

Highlights of endoscopy of the small bowel (enteroscopy) in 2004 - 2005 included the constantly growing use of capsule endoscopy (CE) in everyday practice for patients with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding [1] [2] [3], patients with Crohn’s disease [4], and in clinical trials [5], on the one hand; and the development of push-and-pull enteroscopy (PPE) on the other [6]. The papers selected for this review reflect these trends.
