ABSTRACT

Disorders of ligaments and tendons at the midfoot are less common than those around the ankle and at the hindfoot. Nevertheless, disorders of the distal portions of the anterior and posterior tibialis tendons (ATT and PTT) and the spring ligament complex have an important clinical impact and can be treated with surgery. In this article, we discuss important factors for the magnetic resonance (MR) protocol and review the normal MR anatomy and MR findings in disorders of the distal ATT and PTT as well as of the spring ligament complex. In addition, we discuss clinical aspects of these disorders.
