Kernaussagen

  • Die Wahl des optimalen Operationszeitpunktes bei Herzklappenerkrankungen erfordert die Berücksichtigung einer Vielzahl von Einflussfaktoren, die den postoperativen Verlauf und das Operationsrisiko beeinflussen können. Es gilt das Risiko der Operation gegen das Risiko einer Verschlechterung bei konservativer Behandlung abzuwägen.

  • Moderne nichtinvasive Untersuchungsverfahren erlauben eine genaue Beurteilung der Klappenfunktion und eine exaktere Operationsplanung.

  • Das Risiko der Operation, sei es in der der Aorten- und Mitralklappenchirurgie ist gering.

  • Klappenerhaltende Operationstechniken sind der Goldstandard in der Mitral- und Trikuspidalklappenchirurgie.

  • Die Operation sollte frühzeitig, noch vor Auftreten von Beschwerden bzw. vor einer einsetzenden Verschlechterung der Pumpfunktion des Herzens durchgeführt werden.
