Die Ergebnisse des ersten Teils dieser Studie haben gezeigt, dass die adjuvante Photodynamische
Therapie mit dem Helbo-Verfahren bei entzündlichen Parodontalerkrankungen zur deutlichen
Verbesserung der klinischen Parameter führt. Im vorliegenden Teil II dieser Arbeit
konnte ermittelt werden, dass die PDT mit der Helbo-Methodik zur signifikanten Suppression
der Spezies Fusobacterium nucleatum führt. Dieses Ergebnis spricht deutlich für den
adjuvanten Einsatz dieses Verfahrens bei Patienten mit parodontaler Entzündung und
der Infektion mit F. nucleatum.
Summary
The results of part I of this study have shown that adjuvant photodynamic therapy
by the Helbo method leads to a marked improvement of the clinical parameters in inflammatory
periodontal disorders. In the presently published part II of the study the authors
found out that PDT by the Helbo method significantly suppresses the species Fusobacterium
nucleatum. This result clearly supports the adjuvant use of this method in patients
with periodontal inflammation and infection with F. nucleatum.
