Abstract
Osteoporosis is a disease with a genetic background that develops under the influence of environmental factors over the entire life span. Nutrition plays a crucial role in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. A number of nutritients and dietary conditions besides calcium and vitamin D intake have to be considered in the context of diet, nutrition and osteoporosis.
