Fixe Kombination aus Thymiankraut- und Primelwurzel-Flüssigextrakt bei Husten

Zusammenfassung

Die fixe Kombination von Extrakten aus Primelwurzel und Thymiankraut hat eine lange Anwendungshistorie in der Behandlung von akutem Husten und ist insbesondere in der Kinderheilkunde bewährt. Die medikamentöse Therapie von Kleinkindern und Säuglingen stellt eine besondere Herausforderung dar. Ein Nachweis der therapeutischen Effekte und Anwendungssicherheit des pflanzlichen Kombinationspräparates war daher Ziel einer Anwendungsstudie in Fachpraxen für Kinderheilkunde, in deren Verlauf 200 Säuglinge im Alter von 6-12 Monaten mit Husten, Bronchialkatarrh und/oder Verschleimung der Bronchien als Folge einer Erkältungskrankheit eine Woche lang mit Bronchicum^® Elixir behandelt wurden. Unter Einnahme von täglich 6 × 1 ml des Phytotherapeutikums wurde der Gesamtbeschwerdescore signifikant um 71 % gebessert, bei ausgezeichneter Verträglichkeit und Akzeptanz durch die Eltern und Kinder.

Fixed combination of thyme herb and primula root fluid extracts against cough A non-interventional study with Bronchicum^® Elixir in infants

Fixed combinations of extracts from primula root and thyme herb have a long history of use in the treatment of acute cough. Their use is proven and highly favoured in paediatrics. Medical treatment of infants and toddlers is a special challenge. Therefore, the proof of therapeutic effects and safety of application of an herbal combination product was the aim of an observational study in paediatrics. In the course of this study 200 infants in the age of 6-12 months suffering from cough, bronchial and/or mucous catarrh as a consequence of a common cold were treated for one week with Bronchicum^® Elixir. By application of 1 ml of the herbal medication six times daily the total symptom score was significantly improved by 71 %, with an excellent tolerability and acceptance by parents and children.
