Magnetic resonance imaging offers superb detail of the soft tissues, joint spaces
and osseus structures of the elbow compared to radiography, ultrasound and computed
tomography. We discuss the technical considerations in imaging the elbow, including
patient positioning, coil selection, field strength and imaging parameters.
