ABSTRACT

Ultrasound plays an important role in the evaluation and management of joint disease. In this article, applications of sonography in the diagnosis of articular disease are detailed. General arthrosonographic technique is reviewed, emphasizing normal anatomy and pathologic conditions, and applications at specific joints are discussed. Finally, ultrasound-guided joint interventions are described, including indications and technique.
