Zusammenfassung
Patienten mit zervikaler Radikulopathie weisen häufig starke Schmerzen und Behinderungen auf, die sich jedoch meist erfolgreich mit konservativen Maßnahmen behandeln lassen. Diese Fallstudie zeigt die Bedeutung des Upper Limb Neurodynamic Tests bei der Diagnostik auf und stellt einen Behandlungsweg bei chronischer zervikaler Radikulopathie vor. Zudem werden der Nutzen der Cervical-Lateral-Glide-Technik und die Wichtigkeit der Arbeitshaltung als beitragender Faktor hervorgehoben. Nach der Therapie konnte der Patient dieser Fallstudie die Schmerzmedikation einstellen und bewertete im Global Perceived Effect Questionnaire seinen Zustand als „stark verbessert”.
Abstract
Patients with cervical raduculopathy often suffer intense pain and disabilities which, however, can usually be successfully treated with conservative measures. This case study illustrates the relevance of upper limb neurodynamic tests for diagnosis and presents a treatment strategy for chronic cervical radiculopathy. In addition, the benefit of the cervical lateral glide technique and the importance of the working posture as contributing factor are emphasised. After therapy the patient in this case study was able to discontinue pain medication and evaluated his status as ”highly improved” in the global preceived effect questionnaire.
