(englisch: sudden unexplained/unexpected death in patients with epilepsy; SUDEP) wird
zusammengefasst.
Abstract
The current knowledge of sudden unexplained/unexpected death in patients with epilepsy
or SUDEP is summarized. In pharmacorefractory presumably symptomatic („cryptogenic”)
and symptomatic epilepsies with focal onset seizures it has to be assumed that more
than 50 % of early deaths are SUDEP. Suggestions for the information of especially
high risk patients and their relatives are made.
