Abstract

BACKGROUND: Spinal epidural hematomas following trauma are rare. There are few case reports in literature of concomitant cranial and spinal hematomas following trauma. We report a patient who presented with concomitant post traumatic cranial and spinal epidural, subdural and subarachnoid hematomas. Imaging of the upper cervical spine in patients with posterior ossa fractures and hematomas is advisable. Surgical evacuation of the hematomas is safer and would relieve symptoms.
