Stellenwert des Neuromonitorings in der Schilddrüsenchirurgie

Einleitung

Das intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) hat zunehmenden Routinecharakter in der Schilddrüsenchirurgie in Deutschland erlangt. Dies unterscheidet sich von anderen Ländern wie z. B. den USA und UK, bei denen das intraoperative Neuromonitoring in weniger als der Hälfte der Schilddrüsenoperationen genutzt wird [1]. Für die Nutzung des IONM spricht jedoch die damit verbundene Sicherheit, postoperative Stimmbandparesen bereits intraoperativ zu detektieren und entsprechend die OP-Strategie anpassen zu können. Ob die Zahl der einseitigen N.-laryngeus-recurrens-Paresen (NLRP) dadurch gesenkt wird, ist jedoch weiterhin fraglich und hängt von unterschiedlichsten Faktoren ab.
