One of the main goals of the Portuguese Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SPED) since its foundation is to contribute to increase quality in digestive endoscopy. Last year a meeting about quality in upper endoscopy took place In Lisbon. In 2019 we decided the focus would be in pancreatic and biliary endoscopy, mainly ERCP but also endoscopic ultrasonography. We will debate some of the performance measures suggested in the 2018 publication “Performance measures for ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound: a European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Quality Improvement Initiative” [1]. This one day meeting will have presentations on issues like: How to audit quality in pancreatobiliary endoscopy; training in ERCP and endoscopic ultrasonography; approach to the patient before pancreatobiliary endoscopy; how to increase quality during intervention; critical review of the ESGE performance measures; can we decrease technical failures and adverse events; how to achieve better results during intervention. A final quiz would test our participants knowledge and attention during the meeting.
