Abstract

In the pediatric practice, fever is one of the most frequent symptoms. Fever as the main cause for consultation should always be considered as a serious complaint, also because of the correlated anxiety of the parents. Subsequently, the underlying cause of the fever should be diagnosed. After a digression on the term „fever“ in the history of homeopathy, the current guidelines for conventional antipyretic treatment as well as options for the homeopathic treatment are discussed. The latter is illustrated in the case report of an infant with several episodes of fever.
