Zusammenfassung
Sven Schellberg ist als Arzt in der Novopraxis tätig, einer HIV-Schwerpunktpraxis
in Berlin. Er ist immer häufiger mit Patient_innen konfrontiert, die nach der PrEP
fragen. Er würdigt die Gründe, warnt aber auch vor einer manchmal allzu unkritischen
„Medikalisierung schwuler Sexualität“. Und er wünscht sich, dass offene Gespräche
über sexuelles Verhalten und sexuelles Wohlbefinden, über HIV- und STI-Prävention
nicht nur in HIV-Schwerpunktpraxen, sondern ganz selbstverständlich auch in anderen
Arztpraxen stattfinden. Doch das scheint viel zu oft noch ein Tabu zu sein.
Abstract
Sven Schellberg works as office-based physician at the “Novopraxis Berlin”, an HIV-focused
medical practice in Berlin. He is increasingly confronted with patients who ask about
PrEP. He appreciates their reasons, but also warns against a sometimes too uncritical
“medicalization of gay sexuality”. He also hopes that open discussions about sexual
behaviour and sexual well-being, about HIV and STI prevention will not only take place
in HIV-focused practices, but naturally also in other medical practices. However all
too often this still seems to be a taboo.
