Study evaluating the effect of a newly designed duodenoscope with detachable distal cap on the efficacy of reprocessing. Based on adenosine triphosphate testing and culturing, reprocessing with the detachable distal cap removed was more effective at eliminating bacterial contamination and reducing organic material than when the distal cap was left fixed in place.
