Ältere, einsame Männer mit Alkoholabhängigkeit: Systematische Literaturrecherche zum aktuellen Stand der alters- und geschlechtsspezifischen Interventionen

Zusammenfassung

Der Kenntnisstand zu Prävalenzen und Krankheitsverläufen älterer, einsamer Männer, die an Alkoholstörungen leiden, ist immer noch sehr gering und damit auch das Hilfeangebot. Die vorliegende systematische Literaturrecherche identifiziert die Risikofaktoren dieser Zielgruppe, den aktuellen Wissensstand über Alkoholkonsum bei älteren, einsamen Männern sowie den aktuellen Interventionsstand. Hierfür wurden nach einem umfangreichen Suchlauf 43 einschlägige Literaturquellen zum Thema Alkohol im Alter, Einsamkeit und Interventionen einbezogen. Eindeutiges Ergebnis ist, dass es wenige alters- oder geschlechtsspezifische Suchthilfeprogramme für Männer insgesamt gibt und keines, welches sich spezifisch auf ältere und einsame Männer ausrichtet. Einsamkeit wird in den Studien zwar hin und wieder als Problem bei Suchtkranken beschrieben, aber nicht explizit untersucht. Es wurde daher ein innovatives Interventionskonzept, das auf diese Gruppe zugeschnitten ist, entwickelt. Das Programm „Viktor“ bezieht sich auf diese Problematik und bietet ein spezifisches Angebot für Männer ab 55 Jahren mit einer Alkohol- und Einsamkeitsproblematik an.

Abstract

The level of knowledge about the prevalence and the progression of alcohol disorders in older lonely men is still limited and so are the helping services focussed only on men. The following systematic review gives an overview of the current knowledge as well as the available interventions. Forty-three relevant references covering the topics ‘alcohol in the elderly’, ‘loneliness’ and ‘interventions’ were included. The clear result is that there is still a scarce supply of age or gender specific addiction programs for men in general and no program was found that focusses on the old and lonely male target group. Although loneliness was often mentioned as a risk factor for addiction this was rarely explicitly researched. Therefore, an innovative intervention program for the target group was developed. The program “Viktor” relates to this specific problem including the group of older lonely men (55+) that suffer under their problematic alcohol consumption.
