Yuichiro Hirai et al. Procedural outcomes of a novel underwater injection endoscopic mucosal resection technique for colorectal polyps ≥10 mm

A novel underwater injection endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) technique was used for 135 polyps of ≥10 mm in this retrospective single-center study. En bloc and R0 resection were achieved in 94.1% and 68.2% of lesions, respectively, with two adverse events (1.5%), both delayed bleeding. A clear vertical margin was obtained in all seven T1 colorectal cancers, which ranged in size from 15 to 30 mm. Further studies comparing this technique with traditional underwater EMR and conventional EMR are required.
