Summary
A case of gastric ulcer with marked kyphosis who could not be examined by flexible
gastroscope (modification of Schindler type), fiber-gastroscope (Hirschowitz, FGS-A, SL, CL) because of difficulty in insertion was examined by the new “panview”
fiberscope (Olympus, Machida) under direct observation. These scopes readily passed
into the stomach and observation was satisfactory. Thus because of the improvements
of fiberscopes, the indications for gastroscopic examination have been widened.
Zusammenfassung
Ein Magenulkus bei einem Patienten mit hochgradiger Kyphoskoliose konnte wegen Einführungsschwierigkeiten
weder mit dem Schindler-schen Gastroskop noch mit Fiberskopen (Hirschowitz, FGS-A, SL, CL) gespiegelt werden. Mit dem neuen Panview-Fiberskop (Olympus, Machida)
konnte dies leicht erreicht werden. Eine hochgradige Kyphoskoliose stellt mit diesen
neuen Instrumenten somit kein diagnostisches Problem mehr dar.
