Fatal Late Complication of Liver Biopsy

Summary
A 59-years-old patient suffering from a thorotrastosis is reported about. Aimed liver biopsy showed an angioplastic sarcoma. 18 days after biopsy there was a fatal hemorrhage from the site of biopsy. The late complications after liver biopsy are discussed in relation to the literature.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird über einen 59 Jahre alten Mann berichtet, bei dem eine Thorotrastose vorlag. Die gezielte Leberpunktion ergab ein angioplastisches Sarkom. 18 Tage nach der Untersuchung verstarb der Patient nach einer massiven Blutung im Bereich der Leberbiopsie. Unter Heranziehung der Literatur werden die Spätkomplikationen nach Leberpunktion diskutiert.
