Summary

Destructive chronic prostatitis does not respond to medical therapy and requires surgical treatment. Compared to open surgery, endoscopic transurethral resection (TUR) is more complete and is performed under direct visual control. For satisfactory results resection must include the most peripheral and caudal zones of the prostate. In our department 11 patients with destructive chronic prostatitis were treated with TUR with uniformly excellent results.

Zusammenfassung

Die destruierende chronische Prostatitis spricht auf eine konservative Therapie nicht an und erfordert eine chirurgische Behandlung. Im Vergleich zu einem offenen Eingriff ist die TUR vollständiger, da sie unter Sicht durchgeführt wird. Um zufriedenstellende Ergebnisse zu erzielen, müssen die peripheren und kaudalen Anteile der Prostata mitentfernt werden. In unserer Abteilung wurden 11 Patienten mit chronischer destruierender Prostatitis durch TUR mit hervorragendem Erfolg therapiert.
